At Body Fountain, our TMJ massage is built around the simple truth that most of us carry far more in our jaw than we realize. From clenching during the day to grinding at night, the muscles around the jaw, temples, and neck can become some of the tightest in the body. This focused session works to release that tension and bring real, lasting comfort to a part of you that rarely gets attention.

TMJ massage targets the muscles and tissue surrounding the temporomandibular joint, the hinge where your jaw connects to your skull. Your therapist begins on the outside, working slowly through the muscles of the jaw, cheeks, temples, behind the ears, and down into the neck and upper shoulders. These are the areas that hold the patterns of clenching, grinding, and stress that show up as jaw pain, headaches, and a stiff, tight bite.
For clients who feel comfortable, the work can also continue inside the mouth, where your therapist gently releases muscles that simply cannot be reached from the outside. Intraoral work is always done with care, using a gloved hand, and only with your full consent at every step. If you prefer to stay with external work alone, you will still receive a thorough and effective session. Either way, you set the pace, and your comfort guides every choice we make.

Not at all. The inside the mouth portion is optional, and many clients get great results from external work alone.
It is a slow, focused pressure on small muscles inside the cheek and along the jaw, done with a gloved hand and always at your comfort level.
Many clients notice relief by the end of the session, with the full benefits often settling in over the next day or two.
